Hair Controller’s proprietary formula uses an organic acid that penetrates the cortex of the hair, softening the disulfide bonds gently without damage unlike older Thio-based straighteners and relaxers that break the disulfide bonds and create damage in the hair fiber; while keratin treatments put a temporary coating on the outside layer of the hair and do not affect the disulfide bond, creating a temporary effect.

What are the key ingredients in Qiqi?

Hair Controller should be applied .5 cm (1/4 inch) from scalp to prevent oversaturation.

The combing and heating process will move the product through to the scalp.

It is not recommended to use Hair Controller on clients with scalp conditions or abrasions.

I have Scalp sensitivity; can Hair Controller be applied?

Please take caution when using salon products and avoid contact with the eyes. If contact occurs, rinse immediately with cool water for 2-3 minutes. If irritation occurs, please consult a physician. 

What if Hair Controller gets in my client’s eyes? 

Due to the low PH in acid treatments, it is not unusual for the client to experience sensitivity on the scalp, but it should not last and quickly go away.

Why does my client’s scalp tingle/itch when I place them under the heat?

Due to the low PH in acid treatments, it is not unusual to have some scalp sensitivity.

When a client experiences burning/excessive itching it is indication that the treatment is 

Simple solution is to get a damp towel and remove the excess treatment that has seeped onto the scalp. Your client should feel relief immediately.

Are there any restrictions after Hair Controller treatments? 

Some clients may experience temporary hair odor when the hair is damp immediately after the service. Any odor is temporary and will dissipate within a few days. Using theQiqi Super Soaker Smoothing Masque for 2 weeks after the service every time you shampoo is recommended to help minimize odor.

Can Hair Controller cause odor in hair? 

The odor is because the disulfide bonds are still reacted and on some hair types it can be	more dominant than others. We recommend using the Super Soaker Smoothing Masque 

and leaving it on the hair fora minimum 20 minutes so it can be diminished, nevertheless the odor is not permanent, is because the pH of the hair is still not balanced as it will be after	several washes

Why is there an odor in my hair after Hair Controller? 

Every clients different, the re-touch is based on the client's finish, Minimal Control, Moderate	Control or Maximum Control. The client's wave pattern will determine the timeline of their re-touch, it will vary between 6-8 months for curly hair and up to 8-10 months for wavy hair.

When should my client come back for a re-touch? 

Post Treatment

Will Hair Controller wash out from my hair if I don’t use Sulphate & paraben free products?

Using a clarifying shampoo cannot remove the treatment from the hair. Hair controller does not coat the cuticle of the hair, so there is nothing that can be removed. However, using a clarifying shampoo too often can cause dryness to the hair due to its high PH levels.

Will a clarifying shampoo remove Hair Controller results from my hair?

No, Hair Controller is resistant to chlorine and saltwater, you are free to swim in a	pool or ocean. Unlike keratin and Brazilian treatments, Hair Controller has norestrictions after the service is complete.

Does Chlorine or saltwater affect the results of Hair Controller?

Once the service is finished the fabric of the hair needs a cooling period of 10 minutes due to the heat of either the flat iron or blow dryer used to achieve the desired finish.

Yes, Hair Controller will shift artificial pigment. Color shifts will vary from minimal to significant based on condition, porosity, type of pigment used and age of color.

Professional, permanent color will have minimal color shifts while home-color and direct pigments may shift more. Coloring after Hair Controller services will restore any lost color.

We recommend bleaching before any Hair Controller services. Bleaching can be done the same day before Hair Control. Can I color the same day? 

10% of the treatment is still in the hair to aid in the finishing and smoothing during the service. If the remaining acid treatment is not removed prior to applying hair color, it will block the color from penetrating and depositing. You must shampoo 2x with a daily	shampoo to ensure total removal of treatment, then you may proceed with professional color application.

Why do I need to wash the hair after Hair Controller service before applying color?

Yes, Hair Controller is safe for all hair types, however, use caution when working with clients with high percentages of uncolored grey/white hair. On rare occasions, high heat can cause permanent yellowing. To prevent this, iron at lower temperatures (400F/200C) to start, and gradually increase. If you see yellowing, stop immediately and lower the iron temperature. To be sure Hair Controller will achieve the desired results, we recommend doing a strand test. 

Can I use Hair Controller on grey/white hair?

No, we do not recommend applying Hair Controller to extensions.

After your Hair Controller service, wait for 10 minutes, and then carefully follow the extension manufacturer's instructions. If suggested, use clarifying shampoo, as extensions might not hold as effectively due to residual acids in the hair. Similar to coloring, it's recommended to wash beforehand.
