Maximum Control - Tips & Tricks
For those seeking maximum results to eliminate as much curl as possible, as long as their hair isn't compromised or damaged, these tips and tricks will pave the way for predictable and stunning results.
A blow-dryer equipped with a nozzle
A Qiqi Flat Iron or a digital flat iron capable of reaching and maintaining temperatures up to a scorching 450°F/230°C
Plastic clips for efficient handling
A fine-toothed tail comb crafted from carbon, for precision at its finest
1. After a comprehensive rinse with Hair Controller (at 90% saturation), let the journey to straight, sleek hair begin. Employ your hands instead of brushes for blow-drying; brushes aren't recommended. For those with very coiled textures, a comb attachment is permitted to assist in the process.
2. Divide your dry hair into four equal sections, and prepare for the ironing process. Here, precision is key; work with thin, see-through sub-sections.
3. Set your iron temperature as close to 450°F/230°C as possible.
4. As you wield the flat iron, adopt a SLOW and controlled pace. Quick strokes won't thoroughly heat each section, potentially hindering the desired maximum curl reduction.
5. When it comes to the number of passes, there's no one-size-fits-all rule. Most hair types usually fall between 7-12 passes, but less resistant hair may need fewer, while more resistant hair could require more. It's a matter of professional judgment, and you have the freedom to choose. More passes result in straighter outcomes.
Finishing Technique: Iron each section between 7-12 passes. More passes/higher temperature = straighter results, always use your professional judgment
6. Once the ironing process is complete, and if there's no color service involved, your clients are free to leave with no additional steps or restrictions, ready to flaunt their gorgeously straightened locks.
These tools are indispensable for transforming hair texture, but ensure your iron meets certain guidelines:
Verify that the plates are clean, devoid of chips, dents, or scratches.
There are no restrictions on plate materials, and some irons, like Qiqi's flat iron, use titanium plates.
The iron should have digital controls that can reach up to 450°F/230°C.
Keep in mind that certain flat irons may not consistently maintain high temperatures, which could potentially compromise the desired end result.
