Hair Controller Guide

What is QIQI HAIR CONTROLLER
Hair Controller transforms hair texture to achieve desired results without harsh or dangerous chemicals and will not damage hair.

HOW HAIR CONTROLLER WORKS
Hair Controller works by using organic compounds that penetrate the cortex, softening the disulfide bonds and hydrating the hair without damage, increasing hydration, maximizing shine, reducing frizz and creating curl definition.

Once disulfide bonds are softened, the stylist applies heat and tension to realign and fix the bonds into their new shape.

Using varying amounts of heat ,tension and passes when finishing creates custom results ranging from frizz free curls to natural looking straight.

01 ANALYZE

Analyze hair and scalps overall health and condition. Select Hair Controller based on hair type.

Thick & Course

Best for virgin, coarse, resistant or very curly hair types

Wavy & curly

Best for moderate hair textures or moderate porosity

Thin & Delicate

Best for fine, delicate hair or hair with high porosity

02 PREPARE

Cleanse hair with GO DEEPER CLEANSING SHAMPOO 2 times.

Allow the second lather to sit for 5 minutes then rinse 100%.

DO NOT CONDITION.

For Overly porous blonde hair shampoo once and for 2 minutes then rinse 100%.

DO NOT CONDITION.

03 APPLY

Towel dry hair approximately 90%. Hair should be damp but not dripping.

Divide hair into 4 sections and apply to 1cm / 1/4 in. sub-sections.

Virgin Application: .5 cm (1/4 inch) from scalp through ends

Retouch Application: Apply to outgrowth. Overlapping is safe.

Cover with plastic cap.

04 HEAT ACTIVATE

Use Qiqi Heat Cap or Hood Dryer.

Heat for 30-90 minutes (about 1 and a half hours) using High Heat.

Heat longer for MAXIMUM CONTROL.

Heat less for MINIMAL CONTROL.

05 RINSE

Avoid over-rinsing.

Rinse approximately 90% using low pressure and warm water.

Water should still appear milky or cloudy.

06 FINISHING

Finishing is where you customize the outcome. More heat and tension create straighter results, while less heat and tension reduce curl, leaving some texture with high shine and no frizz.

4-6 plastic clips, Tail Comb, Blow-Dryer with nozzle, Metal/Ceramic center Round Brush, Qiqi Flat Iron

MINIMAL CONTROL

(frizz reduction)

- Divide into 4 sections and blow-dry using 2.5 cm (1 inch) sub-sections.

- Blow-dry from damp with tension. Do not place nozzle on hair.

- No flat ironing required.

MODERATE CONTROL

(curl and frizz reduction)

- Divide into 4 sections and blow-dry using 2.5 cm (1 inch) sub-sections.

- Blow-dry from damp with tension. Do not place nozzle on hair.

- Iron between 400-450f/204-230c, 3-6 passes using 2.5-5cm(1-2in) sub-sections.

MAXIMUM CONTROL

(Straightening)

- Dry 100% with hand and blow dryer (Brushes are not recommended).

- Iron as close to 450°F/230°C that hair will accept.

- Iron thin section SLOWLY, with tension approximately 7-12 passes.

- More passes/higher temperatures = straighter results.

- Always use your professional judgment.

- If uncolored grey hair starts to discolor, STOP IMMEDIATELY and lower temperature.

Finishing for overly porous/damaged hair

Damaged, overly porous hair types are not able to accept high iron temperatures limiting straightening and smoothing products from achieving expected results without causing damage. Adding POROSITY PLAY HEAT ACTIVATED SPRAY before finishing, protects hair from heat styling, actively repairs damage, stabilizes porosity and minimizes further damage.

MINIMAL CONTROL

(frizz reduction)

- Towel dry, generously apply POROSITY PLAY HEAT ACTIVATED SPRAY focused on

saturating overly porous hair.

- Divide into 4 sections and blow-dry using 2.5 cm (1 inch) sub-sections.

- Blow-dry from damp with tension. Do not place nozzle on hair. No flat ironing required.

MODERATE CONTROL

(curl and frizz reduction)

- Towel dry, generously apply POROSITY PLAY HEAT ACTIVATED SPRAY focused on

saturating overly porous hair.

- Divide into 4 sections and blow-dry using 2.5 cm (1 inch) sub-sections.

- Blow-dry from damp with tension. Do not place nozzle on hair.

- Iron between 400-450f/204-230c, 3-6 passes using 2.5-5cm(1-2in) sub-sections.

MAXIMUM CONTROL

(straightening)

- More passes/higher temperatures = straighter results.

*ALWAYS USE PROFESSIONAL JUDGMENT WHEN USING IRON TEMPERATURES ABOVE 420F/215C ON HEAVILY BLEACHED HAIR.

If discoloration or damage starts to occur STOP IMMEDIATELY and lower iron temperature.

Coloring after Hair Controller

If you are not coloring after Hair Controller, the service is complete. If coloring the same day as a Hair Controller, follow these steps:

(Bleaching/Lightening must be done PRIOR to a Hair Controller service.)

01 After completing your service, allow the hair to cool completely for 10 minutes.

02 Shampoo hair with daily shampoo two times.

03 DO NOT CONDITION.

04 Blow dry hair 100%.

05 Apply color and process per manufacturer instructions.

06 Rinse color and shampoo with favorite color shampoo.

07 Apply Super Soaker Masque and Hydration Fixation Conditioner in equal parts and process for 5-10 minutes.

08 Rinse and style as desired.

Saturate sections with application brush & fine-tooth comb.

For wavy to moderate curl patterns:

After entire section is saturated, place hair in palm of hand and

compress toward head or finger wrap to shape curls.

Cover with plastic cap.

For very curly to coiled curl patterns: 

Apply to each sub section and form/define coils as you

apply. Cover with plastic cap.

04 HEAT ACTIVATE

Use Qiqi Heat Cap or Hood Dryer

Heat for 30 minutes using High Heat for wavy to curly hair types

Heat for 45 minutes on coiled hair types.

05 RINSE

Avoid over-rinsing.

Rinse approximately 90% using low pressure and warm water

Water should still appear milky or cloudy

06 FINISHING

Apply Super Soaker Masque allow to sit for 10 minutes

Encourage/scrunch curl during the masque timing

Rinse hair 100% until water runs completely clear

Style with favorite styling cream

Air-dry, dry with a diffusor or under a hood dryer

Do not blow dry straight same day of treatment to prevent curl reduction.
